Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website, and aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
What we’ve done
The site uses semantic HTML and ARIA where helpful, supports keyboard navigation, provides visible focus styles and image alternatives, maintains AA color contrast, and respects the “reduce motion” setting.
Known limitations
No outside firm has audited this site. AA is what we build and test against, not a certificate anyone has issued us, and the list below is what we know rather than everything there is.
The maps, floor plans and charts are drawings. Each carries a written description of what it shows, but a screen reader cannot read an individual trail, room or depth off the drawing itself; where that detail matters we repeat it in the list or the prose beside it.
The trail finder and the season switcher work from the keyboard, but both change what is on screen without announcing it, so a screen-reader user has to go looking for what changed.
Feedback
If you encounter a barrier, please email stay@lakehousekaia.com or call (332) 600-4477 and we’ll help. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will fix it and say so here.
