Lakehouse Kaia respects your privacy. This explains what we collect through this website and how we use it.
Information we collect
When you send a reservation request or message, we collect the details you provide — your name, email, phone, dates, number of guests, and message. We don’t collect this unless you choose to send it.
When you join the opening list, we collect your email address and whatever else you choose to add — your name, how many people you expect, and roughly when and what for. The form sends five things with it: the page the form was on, the page that sent you to it, the first page of your visit, the campaign tag in the link you followed (the src or utm_source in the address), and the referrer your browser reports if you arrived from another site. We use them to know which page brought you here, not to identify you.
Your browser also keeps three small values of its own: how the visit began — the first page, the campaign tag and any referrer — and only for that visit; once you have joined, a note that you did, so the form doesn’t ask you twice; and the season you last chose, if you pressed one of the season buttons. Clearing this site’s data removes all three.
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics — a cookieless, aggregate measurement tool. It records anonymous usage data (pages viewed, country, device type) and cannot identify you. A second Vercel script, Speed Insights, loads on every page and times how long that page took to draw. It measures the page rather than the person, and stores nothing on your device.
The opening list
The house is closed while it is being rebuilt, so the one thing this site asks for today is an email address for the opening list. What you send reaches our mailbox as an email through Web3Forms, the form service named below, and it carries more than the address: whatever optional detail you typed, and the page and campaign details listed above. There is no tracking pixel in the mail we send, and your IP address is not part of what we keep. We keep your signup until we have written to say dates are open, or until you ask us to take it off, whichever comes first — to leave the list, reply to any email from us or write to stay@lakehousekaia.com.
The booking record
A reservation request also leaves a record we keep: your name, email and phone, the dates and number of guests you asked for, anything you wrote in the message, the total we worked out for those dates and how it breaks down, the version of the rental agreement in force when you sent it, the name you typed to accept it, the date and time you accepted it, and the IP address the request came from. That is the record section 25 of the agreement refers to; your typed name is the signature and this is what stands behind it. We keep it for the length of the booking and for six years after, the period in which a claim on a written agreement can still be brought in New Jersey.
How we use it
We use your information only to respond to your request, confirm availability, arrange payment, and communicate about your stay. We never sell or rent your information.
Service providers
The site is hosted by Vercel, which also provides the cookieless analytics above. Form submissions are delivered to us via a third-party form service (Web3Forms). Opening-list signups reach us the same way, by email, and are not written to any other store. When you send a reservation request, a payment processor is given your name, email, dates and number of guests so a payment link can be prepared; the processor handles the payment itself, and we don’t store card details ourselves.
